Welcome to my site and to the Isle of Skye.
For years the Island has been a place that I have come back to, a place of refuge. Its images have travelled the developing world with me and at times, in some of the most hostile places on earth, those images have kept me sane.
If I paint an idealised version of Skye, it is because those are the images I brought home with me. I love the light and the weather (honestly!) and if my pictures are at times surreal, atmospheric, empty and full of nothing but rocks, sea and sky, people who understand my work will see beyond the figurative and understand that these paintings are deeply personal statements that reflect the importance of the Island to me.
I live on the South of Skye and welcome studio visits by appointment.
